District 87 Salon

Just had the best experience at District 87 Salon! I came in for hair coloring and had the pleasure of working with Janet — she was so patient, knowledgeable, and really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted. The whole process felt super comfortable and stress-free, and you can tell she truly cares about her work. The salon itself has such a welcoming, cozy vibe — and the best part? Paw helpers! Having adorable pups around made it feel even more special. 10/10 would recommend if you’re looking for amazing color, expert care, and a feel-good environment.

I’ve always had an aversion to dying my hair, I always felt my darker brown just suited me which it does, but as I’ve gotten older and started to get some grays in, I decided it was time to try something different. I’ve seen this salon online, as well as passed by it a few times and knew a few girls who had gone there and had nothing but great things to say so I finally took the leap and scheduled an appointment with Chi who I also learned is one of the owners and I’m so happy I did! Been very hesitant to bleach or die my natural hair color. I was a little worried during the process, but the other girl working on my hair as well, Janet seemed extremely knowledgeable about the process and complexities of hair, so I felt I was in good hands between her and Chi. Very happy with the outcome really brightened up my mood and picked up my spirit. Nice natural sun kissed look so excited I found a place I can finally go back to and so excited. I took the leap 10 out of 10.

Janet cut my hair perfectly! She was super friendly and attentive and my hair turned out amazing! I showed her an inspo picture and she tailored it perfectly to match hair type and style. Loved it!

Ernesto did my blonde and it was absolutely incredible. left with my hair feeling softer than when i came in, and the color turned out beautifully. i can’t wait to come back!!

Ernesto is incredibly talented, and I feel lucky to have had my first visit here with him! Especially love the care he took to understand my hair and the low maintenance tips he gave me. I normally am not a huge fan of haircuts and have difficulties with articulating what I want, but he hit the nail on the head in terms of what my hair needed. It’s clear that Ernesto is an expert of his craft, and I definitely will be back!

This is the first time I’ve gone to a salon for hair coloring, and I’m very happy with how mine turned out! This salon is so lovely and Chi and Janet were super nice! Will definitely be back, I felt extremely well taken care of and loved the results!

Janet is amazing!! I came in for highlights and Janet was really great with understanding what I wanted and how to achieve the look while trying to keep my hair as healthy as possible while bleaching. She absolutely killed it and I love how it turned out! Everyone at the salon was very kind.

I really cannot 😂 please just Look at the photos of my hair. Chi replies clearly with lies! My hair was fabulous and I never complained about my previous highlights that is a major lie! I actually LOVED how my highlights came out before chi touched my hair. I did them with SANDRA downtown. She is amazing and always nails my highlights unfortunately she had no time to do my highlights that day. Please do not lie guys… that is absurd! And THANK GOD I didn’t sign that waiver’ guys don’t do it! Or else they will not give you your money back! Or try to fix it their mess. As you all can see my hair is dried and styled in those pictures and looks hideous! And the color is awful and so are the highlights. Now you know never cheat on your hairstylist or else your hair will come out like mine..no other hair salon has EVER required me to sign a waiver. Don’t do it guys!!!!!!!!! I wasn’t going to post a review because he gave me a refund but the more I look at my hair the more angry I get. I let my hair grow out for months before wanting to get highlights again and I decided to go to chi tang because he was on my neon coat (an app for models where you get a discount). I come in and show him pictures of what I wanted done! I wanted the highlights from my scalp and I wanted a beautiful bright buttery blonde. He told me that he’s an expert at this….. He’s not. My hair is completely RUINED and the color is AWFUL. I look brunette again with caramel highlights. Don’t be fooled by the pictures he takes on his Instagram because it’s all lighting and definitely editing. I hate to do this but not only is my hair terrible but also burnt off. I could see the fumes as he’s blow drying my hair. A piece of my bangs actually came off. I’m so upset as you know our hair is very important to us. And now I’m afraid to even highlight my hair again because of the damage. I’ll add some pictures so you all can see.. do not be fooled by these reviews honestly. I hate to do this but this was crazy. And his assistant also does not know how to do hair. She completely ruined my highlights. Also I arrived at 4 and didn’t leave till 9……. It never takes that long to do my nightlights he told me it was because he used low volume. What’s the point of using low volume when you’re going to fry my hair off after?

Janet was my stylist and she was incredible! I wanted to go much lighter all over for the summer and I had a very grown out dimensional balayage so she had to do a ton of foils to get me to the picture I showed her, and she accomplished it 100% to perfection!! It was an 8 hr process and she was meticulous the whole way through from beginning to end. Love her and would 100% recommend her to everyone! Will be back for sure when it's time for a touch up.

I’ve been ginger for four years now and have never had an experience like this. I went to Georgia at District 187 hoping for a routine color refresh, but it quickly turned into the worst hair appointment of my life. From day one, she couldn’t get the color right. I came back the next day, and what felt like panic set in—she repeatedly bleached my natural hair, and midway through, had to shift her attention to another client. I was sent out of the salon with my hair dripping and completely unfinished. This morning, I woke up to find that all the hair she dyed had broken off. My hair is severely damaged and I’m heartbroken. I can’t help but feel like she’s there to give the illusion of catering to textured hair—but clearly isn’t trained to actually work with it. If you’re a Black woman considering this salon, please be cautious. And this was a $500 service!
