The Shop

I had my first appointment at The Shop yesterday and it was refreshing. Every team member I encountered was fantastic. The vibe is 10/10. Had great conversations with the nail techs and fellow customers, it was a blast. It’s a friendly, welcoming environment. Janie did a wonderful job on my nails. She asked questions, she explained the products, and was fast for a full set. This will be my regular nail salon going forward.

I had an appointment here with Janie. Booking online was easy. She communicated early and was able to plan for what I needed. She was ready when I arrived and very professional. Gel manicure lasted a month +, with no cracking etc, only nails growing out. 10/10 wouod recommend.

I really love the style and esthetic of the Shop. It’s clean, bright and modern. The staff are really helpful and nice. The gel I chose had a lot of sparkle and under-cured so unfortunately I had to go back to have a few nails redone. No problem as they have a guarantee! The only thing that would make this place better would be offering something to drink - like flavored sparkling water and coffee. I would have even been willing to pay for a Nespresso. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the price already includes the 20% tip so I saved money in comparison to what I thought I’d be paying. I give this place a 9/10. It’s one of the better ones I’ve been in Madison, comparing to some salons I’ve been in big cities.

Very solid artists here that pay attention to detail and don’t rush at all. I think the big issue with other salons is the RUSH to get you out. The shop doesn’t over promise they do a very GOOD job on one thing which I appreciated. I got a gel manicure for the first time in probably 5 years and it was quick clean and relaxing. I’ll be coming back for other services!

This is my second time getting my nails done here. The first time it was great, but the second I was Not impressed.. A. This is not the color that I chose, it’s several shades lighter. They said that The color looks different on people, which I do not believe and have never experienced before anywhere. ( For reference I got a luminary gel shade 22 and it’s clearly it’s not the same color.) B. You can see in the pictures that it’s crusty on the sides. (I’m going to have to get these re-done elsewhere since you can’t get an appointment for several weeks out.) :-/ C. They seemed “indifferent” about the whole thing. doesn’t make me feel comfortable about coming back here. Attitude is everything.

This place is a hidden treasure, I have been getting my nails done since I was 15 and this is the place to go hands down. The energy attention to detail and compassion of your time and money, is worth the price alone. Your paying for QUALITY....My nails are still beautiful weeks later.

I really enjoyed my experience at The Shop, they were very accommodating and I love my nails. The space was hip, clean and the atmosphere was fun. Leah did a great job, she was helpful and patient while helping me pick out a color and made sure they were just right. I'm glad I found this place!

Tremendous. Brought my daughter here for a little kiddo manicure pedicure action. It was so cute to see her picking out her new nail look with her nail expert, Leah. Leah, Leah, Leah… Wow, what a joy to be around. Leah is so full of jokes and conversation. She is very much herself, and we highly recommend her to everyone who expresses interest in anything nail related. Bottom line, The Shop is rated as highly as it is for numerous reasons. The shop is very clean and organized, the process from start to finish was perfectly streamlined and stress free as well. Cannot recommend The Shop more. We hope this can help some people make their own decision about where to get their nails done in the future!
