Amy did an amazing job on my cut and color! I’m amazed by her talent and foresight. I am in love with my hair and i feel like a new person! So thankful I booked an appointment at this salon and with her on a whim! Adding before and after photos!

I’ve been looking for a salon since I moved to Jacksonville that I can walk away happy after a service. I’m happy to say I’ve found it with Southern Roots. Jenna has been my stylist and I’m planning on keeping her! She has done an amazing job every time, and yes, I’ve walked away very happy. My first experience was a Brazilian blowout and a haircut. Needless to say, all went very well. The way you know you have a great cut is not the day of, but days later when you have to style it yourself. I few months later I returned for another haircut and some lowlights. Jenna was very attentive to my wants and I am again very happy with the outcome. I found my happy place.

Laurissa Kidwell is my favorite hairdresser! She is kind, friendly , well trained hair dresser, with attention to detail , my hair never looked better!

Edited after owner's response: I am out over $300 and my hair looks awful. I respect that your stylists get paid by commission, but in this case, no commission is deserved outside of the generous tip I left. I deserve to be refunded, period. - This was my first visit to Southern Roots, and while I had high hopes based on the stylist’s reviews, my experience unfortunately didn’t go as expected. When I left the appointment, my hair had been curled, which can easily mask issues with color or placement. It wasn’t until I straightened it two days later that I saw the actual results, and it was clear that the outcome didn’t match the inspo photos I shared or the conversation we had beforehand. I reached out right away with photos, and while the stylist responded kindly and offered to fix it, I ultimately decided I wasn't comfortable with another appointment. I was then told the salon doesn’t offer refunds, and instead, the owner, who I did not book with would be the one to do the correction. As a first-time client, this doesn't sit well with me. I don’t feel comfortable going back, and I don’t believe I should have to. I am not asking for anything beyond a fair resolution, and a refund would allow me to go elsewhere and have the issue addressed by someone of my choosing. Out of respect, I won’t name the stylist - I don’t believe this policy is hers, and I know she’s done great work for many others. But I do think the salon’s refund policy and how this situation was handled deserve to be shared. I’m including photos (the inspo pictures and my result) so others can make their own judgment. I always prefer to handle these things privately, but I also believe in transparency, especially when your first experience as a client leaves you feeling dismissed.

My name is Beka :) First time with Jenna at Southern Roots Hair Salon I was nervous but after searching and reading reviews on line I came to Souther Roots hair Salon and they did not disappoint me they are professional, friendly and affordable. Jenna patiently explained to me step by step what she was going to do with my hair in order to achieve my hair goals and I definitely recommend her 100%.

Had my first (of many) appointments with Lauren and it couldn’t have gone any better. She was so sweet and did an exceptional job on my hair. As someone with naturally dark hair, going lighter is always a hit or miss with some stylist and she knocked it out of the park. I got the results I was looking for at a fair price and Lauren was such a joy to work with

I went to Southern Roots hair salon expecting the same typical service I've been finding everywhere. I was really surprised at my experience! Jenna was my hair stylist and she was so much fun! I got highlights a cut wash and blow dry and I'm very very happy with it. I felt really comfortable while she did my hair. I actually had a good time. She knew exactly what she was doing and I will be back. I will tell everybody too!

I cannot say enough good things about Southern Roots. Having moved here from out of state, I had no idea where to go for truly good hair care. Now I do! These ladies listen and have mad cutting, coloring and styling skills. I can't wait to get a facial, for they are really a spa in my opinion. Please give them the opportunity to show you what they are all about. You will not be disappointed!

I recently saw Krista and got bombshell extensions installed. The results are absolutley amazing. She made sure the color and cut blended perfectly. My initial consultation was with Lauren. Both stylist were extremely transparent with the price and explained what each charge was for. They also both did a phenominal job at explaining how the installation process works and how to take care of my hair to maximize its longevity. The salon itself was well-kept and a relaxing atmosphere. I absolutely love how every stylist in the building was more than willing to help each other, teach each other, and learn when able to. I could not be happier with my experience.

I have been to Southern Roots several times and I love it there. The environment is welcoming and trendy! The ladies are great, but I always see Jenna. She always takes my inspiration pictures and turns it up to next level, so I leave looking amazing! And spending time doing a scalp spa treatment with her was top notch! She totally understood that I just wanted to be quiet, while I laid there to get pampered. You can’t go wrong, if you book Jenna at Southern Roots!
