Came there with my bf twice she told us to come back with cash she clearly didn’t want to cut his hair sent us out the door with people numbers who hair cuts but was cutting a white man hair and let a another guy in front of us without telling him the same thing she told us 0/10 don’t recommend she’s rude and unprofessional

I gave this place one star because there wasn't something with minus in the review. I never recommend any one to have hair cut here. I went once I asked for the simplest hair cut in this world and she couldn't make it. The worst experience for hair cut. I'll never repeat it.

Fantastic cut, extremely reasonable price. Not a fluffy boutique showy place. Better than that, killer classical music and plants galore, can't beat that. Just let the barber know what you want and be specific about it. Not sure this is the p[lace to go if you aren't sure what length, type of cut you want. Maybe the signs were not there 4 months ago about the re-cut being an extra $5, but that is clear as day now. Even then, $15 for a cut? Quit griping. First time here, will not be my last.

I enjoyed my experience eating on the couch and watching others be serviced before my turn, as well as the ability of being able to walk in offthe street and get my haircut. I had it washed and cut, which cost me $20 since she had to use scissors. If I return, I'll ask to face the mirror. I see others complaining about that. Maybe I just got lucky but my hair looks gooood

I love it. I like how it's decorated in there and I like the people who run it. I got a few cuts here, all very nice! And wow, incredibly fast! They don't charge much at all but be sure to tip good still they deserve it and you would be spending much more elsewhere.

Hair art is on the corner of Lynn and Court Street. The lady has been cutting hair for 25 years in this location and has survived a tornado. Cash only. 9.95. You can’t even get a drink for 9.95 in downtown Iowa city anymore. Iowa city has the most ridiculously inflated prices of anywhere. I mean it’s still Iowa after all. But this place has kept the same price for 25 years. nothing fancy but I was in and out in 13 minutes flat and it was literally 9.95 I gave her a $20 bill and tipped her the other 10. Well worth it and still the best deal around for a haircut.

I went in, showed her a picture, told her exactly what I wanted, and I walked out with a great haircut. Could have been cleaned up a bit more but she killed it at the only really important part. Also love how quick she worked. I was outta there in like 20 minutes. Left a 20% tip but that was only like $2 and honestly I regret not tipping more. Will go back and will pay better

Men's haircut is $11. Didn't wait long. She did a great job. However cleanup leaves a little to be desired. They use the same brush on everyone and leave you with hair all over your face and neck.
