Was given a gc as a gift, so tried this place for the first time. It was the quickest and worst pedicure I’ve ever had. I was finished and at the dryer before the 2 people next to me, even though I was seated after them. The bottom of my feet feel like sandpaper, my nails are not the same length or shape and no polish was put on the tips. Walking away from the remaining gc balance and will return to my regular salon to pay to have them fixed / done correctly.
I have been going to Tip Top Nails for the past 2 years and have always had the most positive experience! The staff is truly amazing and always welcoming!! My nails have always looked so neat and beautiful!!
First time coming to this nail salon I wasn’t to thrilled to say the least, I asked for pink and white gel and was convinced to do acrylic because I was told it’s a longer process and more then one session to refill, I was never told that before. Any other salon gives me pink and white gel in one appointment no problem. With that being said, I’m not to satisfied with how my nails came out I feel like they used to big of tips on my nails and the acrylic makes them look very thick and not natural as opposed to gel.
Called ahead today and came in for a gel manicure and pedicure. Felt very rushed with both services. Pedicure lasted about 20 minutes with very little callous removal or massage. The gel manicure was worse. The technician air-sprayed the French polish for the tips and left so much white spray/polish in the tips of my fingers. She was picking at it with her nails trying to get it off! I don’t know the reasoning for this technique other than cutting corners to save time. The pics attached are even after I soaked and washed my hands 10+ times. After she was done picking at this unsuccessfully, she told me to go wash my hands. After I washed them I was headed back to her station only to find another woman sitting there and her holding my purse for me to go pay. No cuticle oil. No lotion or massage. Made me feel like a second class client all for $90. I even tipped despite my embarrassment of how I was treated. I should have known better! When I got to my car to take a good look at my nails, I felt even worse. This technician was working at station #9 BTW. 😕
Edit: for Athena! Thanks girl for completely going against my review, I wonder if they paid you for it? I’m glad that you’ve never attempted to take your acrylic off… But when they last over four weeks and have fungus underneath them, you kind of have to. :) xo I wasn’t going to do this but I can’t believe how horrible my experience was (even over a month later). Came in on 12/22/23 for dip. Received gel instead because the woman didn’t listen to me. My nails were so horrid and she let me walk out even after complaining twice. I paid 45 dollars for this fyi. No nail cuticle cleaning or anything. (Pictures were after she fixed them..) The lady was so rude to me saying my nails were too short for dip or anything else. I was like of course they are, you literally cut them down to nubs when I didn’t ask for that? Not to mention I sat and waited for 40 min after I came in even though I had an appointment at 5:00 pm. Luckily, the owner/manager was very kind and after I stormed back in an hour after leaving to complain about it being unacceptable, they finally agreed to give me a full set free of charge (duh, I wasn’t paying again?). the new woman who did my nails was very nice and accommodating and I felt bad making her stay til 7:30 pm to fix my nails, but this was absurd so there was nothing I could do. They fully let me leave with these horrible nails (pictures). Thank god I came back to fix them because I literally got proposed to the next day. It gets worse. after 4 weeks of grown out acrylics that seemed to not be able to budge as far as Coming off, I decided to try and take them off at home myself, but it was a horrible experience. I literally could not pry them off for anything. After googling I realized that I was pretty sure the nail stylist used mma dental glue on me (illegal). FINALLY after prying them off (which took 2 weeks) I literally had thin nub nails which ripped and still won’t grow 2 weeks later. My pinky nail now has fungus on it thanks to this salon and all of my troubles. I literally have to go spend money now for medicine. I cannot believe I was charged 45 dollars for the first work done (shown in pictures). This whole experience was horrible. I’m still paying the price. Don’t go here and save your money. I can’t even begin to describe the torture my nails went through and are still enduring. Enjoy the photos of how I left the salon even after telling the woman twice I hated my nails and they needed to be fixed. Literally looks like a 10 year old did them blindfolded. Left with dirty hands too.
***GO TO FLOWER NAILS & SPA INSTEAD*** I regretfully attempted to come back to have the Nails originally done at this salon fixed. My set was lopsided, bumpy, and you could barely tell the simple desgins were mickey heads. The female owner was extremely rude to me when i asked for a different nail tech. She said my nails must be 3 months old and i had them done 2.5 weeks ago… she then said she would put me back at the nail tech who messed up my nails to begin with. She kept talking over me and making snyde comments… I do not recommend this salon. The work is horribly subpar and the service is rude and rushed. Flowers nails and spa is the only salon ill go to now. Quality work, fair prices, KIND employees, and you actually feel like you're having a salon experience lol
I used to get my nails done here years ago. Stopped doing them for a long time and tried many other places but around Hamilton, this is it. This is the spot. I am particular and I like big stuff and they have never had a problem doing exactly what I can dream up and the owners are cool people.
First time going to Tip Top Nails and it was a good experience, staff is very friendly and they work fast! Reasonable prices too. I loved the design however I wished they’d be more careful applying the acrylic as it went under the nails and it’s a bit uncomfortable. Other than that, I liked it a lot!!
I love tip top so much! I’ve tried my fair share of other nail salons in the Hamilton area and they arr all much more expensive for a lesser quality of work. You can walk into tip top with a photo of inspiration and you will walk out with an exact replica. Not sure why i ever went anywhere else!! They are the best! Friendly technicians, reasonable pricing and your nails are done in a timely manner!!
I would not recommend this place. The people are nice but that doesn't mean they do a good job. My gel manicure was just a paint job. No push back or clean up of cuticles. No lotion, nothing. Plus he put 3 layers of clear gel after filing my original nails down. That's not what I asked for. Also looks like a 3 year old painted them. Not cleaned up and they feel weird because there is thick gel under my nails. I won't go Again.
