Worst experience, service, and cut of MY LIFE. I went in to get my hair done for my birthday and I wanted something new. My hair was getting boring. So I wanted to do bangs and face framing (which I’ve had before and it looked good) but when I told her I wanted Bardot inspired bangs, and face framing, plus showed her my reference pics and a video of a girl explaining how she cut her hair, the woman said what are Bardot bangs? Like curtain bangs? (I should’ve walked out then but I gave her benefit of the doubt that she knew about cutting hair and I didn’t; again a mistake) when she was finished my hair was DESTROYED. Completely chopped to hell! And I cried for two days. I didnt want to leave the house. I didn’t want to be seen at all. I tried to like the cut, tried to get used to it, but I could barely look in the mirror because of how horrible the cut made my face shape look, and the cut itself looked. I tried multiple times to get ahold of the owner to talk to her about remedying the situation; but she REFUSES to talk to me. I’m so utterly disgusted and depressed about how ugly my hair is and the way it makes my face look and the way the owner has treated the situation. I feel cheated, and completely un valued as a customer. They told me I could go back to get my hair fixed but I had TWO woman work on my hair that day and they only made it worse. I even had the other stylist look at my reference pics and say what do you like about it? WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! I finally broke down after the owner wouldn’t get ahold of me and went to another stylist with 20yrs of experience to see if she could fix it and even the new stylist asked who ruined my hair, and told me she couldn’t do much to fix my hair, because of how bad it was. Even with her making it look less like a kid took scissors to a Barbie; I still can barely stand it. The pics show my hair before, what it looked like after, and my reference pics/persons video

I scheduled a hair cut with Anna and love my results! She was extremely friendly and professional and completely understood what I was asking for. I was very impressed with the quality of my cut! The salon is adorable and very clean as well. Every employee, from the stylists to the receptionist, were all very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend!

I’ve waited almost 5 years to post this review because I didn’t want to step on a business when they were down (as it was during the pandemic) but someone I know recently went here and had a terrible cut so now something has to be said. In September 2020 I had an appointment with the owner. I even had a consult with her a few weeks before and we went over my goals and my inspiration pics. I spent about 2 years growing it out and to spend $ on a haircut during the pandemic was a big deal. One thing I said was DO NOT GIVE ME A KAREN CUT. No stacking layers in the back, no A-line cuts, just a soft blunt bob. $75 later I got a Karen cut with terribly choppy stacked layers and A- Line sides. When I expressed my displeasure and disappointment she literally just took the scissor and cut the Long front ends straight across. I went to my car and just cried in the parking lot for the next hour.

I had full highlights done by Anna. My hair is very long and thick. It also tangles if you look at it wrong. Needless to say it takes a long time and a lot of effort to work on my hair and she did great! I enjoyed talking with her the whole time as well. I asked for simple caramel highlights and she went above expectations. She also fixed my old grown out bangs. Thank you!

So I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but this time I have too. I went in with very specific details saying i wanted two inches off and then longer layers that blend in and trimmed framing pieces. Leaving with my hair curled, I thought it was amazing… at first. Come to find out, I now have choppy layers that look like staircases and uneven sections of hair that were essentially just cut straight across giving it a boxy look. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend going here with anything other than a simple trim.

Very disappointed. The girl who did my hair sucked I know she made my hair ugly, did things to it I didn’t like and she left it blotchy . It was done on purpose. I had to go fork out $ 200.00 more to get it fixed. It was the middle of February I paid $ 160.00 plus $10 tip

Oh my goodness, where do I start??!! River City Hair Studio is amazing! I had called nearly everywhere to see if they could get me in Saturday night and everyone I called said no, except this lovely place! Right away the person who answered the phone asked what I was looking to do with my hair, we set up an appointment and not even 10 minutes later the marvelous owner calls me back to try to get me in sooner. I wanted an all over color with an autumn caramelized look. Dianne did simply just that at a super low cost!! Talking to the ladies here is like talking to your best friend! ❤️❤️ I really enjoyed that you are actually in a private section with walls and you don't have to deal with the "fishbowl atmosphere" as Dianne put it haha!! Alot of the Solon is filled with beautiful refurbished wood and pillows and handmade arts. It's a super clean salon, very relaxed, and classy! I can't say enough about this place!!

I recently got a lopsided haircut at a different salon in town. Since I didn't want to go back to that salon (you only get one shot with me), I stopped by River City this morning to see if they could take me as a walk-in. As luck would have it, Dana was just finishing up a haircut and was able to squeeze me in. She listened to my concerns and did an amazing job fixing what the other stylist botched. I left the salon with the haircut that I originally wanted and I couldn't be happier. Dana was amazing and I will definitely be back!

So I went in here had a perm done. It fell out in a matter of days. Went in to complain, The owner Dianne was there she told me they don't do do cash refunds but did offer to redo my perm for free. I had it done last Sunday by her and it still looks amazing. I highly recommend goin thru Dianne she's amazing.

Honestly, they jacked up my hair and then said that will be $40. So, inexpensive but it definitely showed. The people there were nice though, but the way they let me leave looking the way I did was mind blowing. I won’t be back
