Salon 501

Do not go to Rachel C. for bridal hair! She was unable to execute either of the hairstyles I wanted for my wedding, leaving me without a hairstylist with less than 30 days to go until my wedding! I originally booked with Rachel in March and placed a deposit in person at Salon 501, where she recommended coming in closer to the wedding date for trials. I had two trials for both looks, but neither was done neatly. I reached out to Rachel to express that I was still unhappy with the trials and wanted to try again. She responded by saying, “Also, please be aware that even if you were to absolutely love your hair at the next trial appointment, it will not be the exact same on the wedding day.” Then she mentioned that she didn’t feel she was the best stylist for my wedding. She did not show me her portfolio or recommend any styles that she specializes in. A neighbor had recommended the owner at Salon 501, but she was unavailable and suggested Rachel instead. Rachel’s lack of confidence in her abilities did not make me feel confident about continuing to work with her. I have attached examples of the styles I want compared to what I received!

Rachel is probably the best stylist I've had do my hair. Not only has she taught me more about my hair type and how to style/take care of it (only person in my family with curly/wavy hair😬), she truly takes the time to get to know me. I also appreciate that she takes notes and is not afraid to do little experiments with my hair color when I am not sure exactly what color I want! 10/10 recommend (especially if you like balayage, she does not disappoint)! The salon also has the cutest apparel and jewlery. Amazing atmosphere and all the staff are super kind.

Salon 501 has a clean a esthetically pleasing environment. I also appreciate the easy online scheduling! ❤️ my stylist!

I paid $230 for a hair dye that was supposed to last, but in less than three weeks it was completely washed out. They did a balayage and from the beginning I noticed that the color was not as I expected, but I trusted because they present themselves as professionals. Unfortunately, the quality does not correspond to the price. I feel disappointed and I definitely won't come back or recommend it

It took me a couple years to finally find my place after a variety of hair experiences, but let me tell yall that Rachel is a GEM. She gives the best consults and really wants to make your appointment everything that it should be. She’s helped me reach my hair goals and literally knocks every color and cut out of the park! Will not be going anywhere else.

As guy looking for a men's cut I work in a professional setting and like to look nice and clean cut. Cuts are always done well. It's easy to get an appointment. The price is fair. And the staff are great. Rachel and Jaimae are awesome! Thank you.

My experience at salon 501 was catered to me by Kayla Pillatzki. She swiftly booked me the same day for a wash, cut, and blowout. She did not talk down to me when I mentioned my lack of hair care, and she gave great hair care advice when I asked for it. I've never felt such power after leaving a salon chair. Thank you, Kayla, for making my salon experience top tier and offering to style my hair for my event. I will absolutely be back, and recommend Kayla to any and all my friends. P.S. I received TONS of compliments on my hair at the event. My hair has never felt softer and my curls are still intact, 10 hours later. Who knew a woman could feel so empowered by her hair? Rachel has done my hair for years, from regular cuts to styling for events. A few weeks ago she did my trial for my wedding and I'm so excited for her to style my hair for my big day! Rachel is always very attentive to her clients' vision, making it a point to communicate throughout the styling service. I drive from Brainerd to see her because she takes such good care make me feel comfortable. Rachel's attention to detail when doing a manicure is also something I've come to appreciate over the years.

Hair can be as unique as the individual.  This is certainly true for me.
