Really rude. Online says it closes at 5 pm. My husband arrived at 4:15 just as the stylist was finishing up a customer. No one else in line. She refused to cut my husband's hair ( he's almost bald --would have taken 10 minutes). She said they close at 4. Really? Discrimination? He's a kapuna..shame on you. You missed out on a good trip.Won't be going back there.
We were visiting Maui and realized our boys (11 & 9) looked pretty ragged. So we stopped in at Cool Cuts and they both left with really good haircuts. The price was $25 per haircut which seems about standard these days. The shop is open air but the mist system keeps you super cool while you wait. Definitely recommend for kids cuts.
says open 9am i was here 10mins before and its been 15mins still close, wasted my time
Fantastic cut at a reasonable price. Liz did a great job. They also have some toys and books to entertain small children. That same personal touch seems evident in every aspect of the shop. They also have convenient parking and are in an open air space so you can feel the wonderful Maui breeze while you're in the chair or waiting for your turn.
Don’t mean to complain, but I dropped in for my “arrival to Maui hair cut” and after I went to went to pay, I was told the price was $5.00 more than what was advertised on the signage out front. The cutter’s response was , I haven’t changed my sign yet…. Being rude to my question, I haven’t been back since. “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me”. No, not going to let that happen!
Not too busy. Rates not what’s advertised on this site. Senior citizens $25 + tip for 6 minutes in the chair. You be the judge! Looking in the mirror and it is possibly the worst haircut I’ve had. Wife had to finish feathering. Stylist in a big hurry to get back on her phone. Avoid the stylist from Florida!
Came at 12:30PM. Raced a guy to the signup sheet. He won. He’s done and gone. Haircut girl goes on break. I wait, there’s a woman that works there sitting in one of the chairs. She’s not looking at the signup sheet. I look around the corner and she says "the girl went on a break, she needed a break". She did nothing more than tell me that and told me to come sit in a chair because it’s cooler in there. I guess because they have portable ACs. I’m not sure who this woman is, the greeter? I stay where I am. Haircut girl comes back and leaves again and goes in her car. In the meantime another haircut girl takes a customer who arrived after me!? Maybe there was an appointment? I'm in the dark. I’m still waiting. Am I invisible? It’s been an hour now and there wasn’t a line until after I showed up. Not the first time I’ve had to wait for an hour here, but the other times there were a few people in front of me. So this is not making sense to me. I’m getting anxious. I have sh!t to do. Haircut finally happened. It was good. Prices went up a little, but I’m still paying less than when I lived and had my hair done at a salon in Michigan. In general, the place it cool because it’s outside. When they acknowledge you are waiting, it’s better, you feel “seen”. My hair is short so it’s not too difficult and it always comes out just fine. Sometimes the haircut girls talk to you, sometimes they don’t. I don’t care either way. It’s a unique place and I come here nearly every time I get my haircut. I would recommend but with a caveat; expect to wait around an hour whether you’re the next person in line or you have a few folks ahead of you. So, I gave a 4* because it's a fine place, but I'd also give a 3* for the hour wait without apology.
The new “hostess” was beyond rude and unnecessarily exacerbated a difficult situation. I have a toddler who is afraid of haircuts, but he has gotten his haircut here many times just fine. He just needs a moment to settle in the chair. She kept verbalizing his nerves and mentioning how he looked scared right next to him making him get more upset. She wouldn’t stop talking and then told him to come back after a nap in THE most condescending tone. She added absolutely nothing to the experience and tried not one bit to listen and be understanding. I will never go to this place again, not because of the hairstylists (they’ve always been fine), but the new woman managing the experience is overbearing and frankly doesn’t need to be there.
Excellent walk in hair salon. Very good skilled and friendly people! Itwas my first open air hair cutting session. Nice!
I don't give perfect scores unless I'm just blown away so it hardly ever happens. I'm old and don't have a lot of hair so if it's cut to short I look like a porky pine getting out of the shower. LOWER MY EARS, BLOCK IT IN THE BACK AND LEAVE ENOUGH HAIR TO BRUSH. She did a great job.
I don’t know how they are with haircuts all I know is do not let this lady that they call the pineapple lady braid your hair. She overcharged me for some messed up braids first of all she braided them in reverse so that if they slipped out …
I went in for a quick trim and they butchered my hair. They refunded my money but I had to pay twice as much for another salon to fix the mess they made. I'm trying to grow my hair out. The other salon had to take five inches off my hair to …
Worst haircut ever, Asked for a flat top, She did not know how to do it, Ended up with a buzz cut
Absolutely amazing! Andrea gave me an amazing fade for the lowest price I could find. Make sure to tip her well! 😉 …
These folks are always friendly and I've never had to wait. Even better once you are in the chair, they are thorough and don't rush through the cut like at the chain stores.
Always a great value, convenient location (not to mention the spectacular view), and I love knowing that I'll walk away with a good-looking cut no matter which barber/stylist happens to be working that day...
Great service. Really took her time. Reasonable prices. Amazed. I’ll be back.
Got my 15 month old’s first haircut here. Probably one of the only barbershops on island that will give babies haircuts.
Andrea did an exaliant job cutting my hair. Extremely happy.😁😁😁😁 canli. …
Overcharged with a smile on her face. Tamara. with tip $35 for 5 minutes. Seniors beware.
