I went here to get a matching pedicure, and an acrylic manicure. The pedicure went well, no pain. They used a nice array of tools, and it still looks good. After sitting down to get my acrylics done, I showed the nail lady a reference picture of milky pink almond nails. I told her I had never had acrylics done before, and I was getting them for my sisters wedding. She started to file down my nails and cuticles with a metal bit. It was very painful, and my skin was bleeding while she did my nails. She continued to put on acrylic, and the chemicals she used stung terribly in my raw cuticles. I told her at the beginning that I wanted the same polish that was on my toes to be used on my nails. Somewhere in between, she swapped out that polish for a different color in gel. After I washed my hands, she started applying this polish. When I asked her if it was gel, she said yes. I was surprised, and told her again that I wanted the same polish as earlier. She then went on to tell me that this polish was better, it would last longer, and it’s for my sister’s wedding, as if trying to persuade me to buy the product she already put on me. I asked if it was more expensive, and she said it was $20 extra. I was afraid to ask again for my normal polish after she had already applied the gel, so I didn’t say anything. The acrylic came out lumpy and thin, the nail tips were glued to my finger tips, and my cuticles were raw, bleeding, and inflamed. Not to mention the nail tips didn’t cover my entire nail. The next few days after my appointment my cuticles kept re-opening and bleeding. One of them became swollen from infection, and they are all scabbed and peeling a week later. The flash pictures are what my nails look like after a week, and a few attempts to fix them and my cuticles. I ended up paying $65 for something I didn’t want. I tipped $5 but would have tipped over $10 if my service wasn’t so upsetting. The last picture was my reference picture.
Wonderful people! Very professional, accommodating, and nice. I walked in and had no wait. They did prefer cash over Venmo, but prices are fair.
Perfection Nails has been my go-to nail place for years. I just like being here, and even though out of curiosity I may try other places, I always return to Perfection Nails.
I love this place. My sister introduce me to here about a decade ago. It's the only place I get my nails done.
My daughter and I came in for 10am pedicure appointments. They were packed with people but did a good job communicating that they would be with us soon and make sure they knew we had appointments. They sat my daughter first but got me back quickly beside her despite being extremely busy. They did a great job on our nails doing extra steps like a scrub in addition to the lotion and hot towels. We will be back! My daughter would like to add that it was “extremely relaxing” 😀
If I would have written this review right after my manicure (powder dip + tips in almond shape), I would have given Perfection Nails 5 stars. They do an amazing job with pedicures and I loved the way my nails looked. However, after only 24 hours, the dip and tip on my nails started popping off. I was able to get the first two repaired, but then by day 3 I had lost an additional three nails and it wasn't worth my time to go back in and get it repaired. The reason for this is because the nail itself wasn't prepped properly and the dip powder didn't create an adhesive bond to the nail. I've never had this issue before, and I regularly get dip powder manicures that last for at least three weeks. So in the end I paid over $50 for a manicure that didn't last even 24 hours. That's not what I would expect and I don't know if I'll be visiting this business again.
This place will turn on you like a wild animal. I've been going there for 5 years to get my eyebrows waxed. I asked for a manicure and my regular lady wasn't there. The guy with the eye condition stereotyped me when I asked him could he watch my cuticles because they would bleed with my hangnails. He told me he didn't need a nail instructor and refused to do them. I was not being irrate but he wanted me to be. The whole time I was sitting there like is this really happening. I only asked him, and have never had a manicure since I am a nail biter could he get them. They all stick together.I told him I have been a good customer and a good tipper for years. I then went to the other affiliated shop salon DE nails to tell my regular lady what happened. She apologized but of course didn't care much. It's a shame because she was a great eyebrow waxer. It lets me know all they care about is money and I understand that it's a business but that is no way to treat customers. And it's a shame that the other customers in the store heard how he was treating me but chose to just frown at his actions and do nothing
Tina did a Wonderful job on my nails and I am so happy with how they look! I will definitely go back and get a pedi soon with her. The shop is so clean and everyone is professional and friendly. This is a keeper for me!
I had already been waiting 20 minutes for a pedi was told 20mins at 1:30pm. A lady came in after me and was serviced right away at 2:00pm. Clearly we were two different colors and when I spoke up he said I’m doing her first. Although I had been there and waiting. I felt as though this was racially motivated I left without being serviced. Blacks are clearly not welcomed. I mean it is Charlottesville Va.
The BEST place around to get your nails and toes done. Also, for waxing. And they have the most adorable little girls pedi chair. My daughter loves this place and so do I. They all do amazing work at very reasonable prices. I started going there when I was 16. The same people have always been there and their just fantastic!!!
