Huge thanks to Brittnie at Kontour Salon for the amazing job she did on both me and my foster daughter! Makayla was feeling a bit anxious and wasn’t the most cooperative during her appointment, but Brittnie handled it with so much patience, kindness, and care. She took her time and made sure Makayla felt safe and seen and the results were absolutely beautiful! She also did my hair at a very reasonable price, and the time and attention she gave to both of us was more than worth it. We both left feeling fabulous! The salon was clean, inviting, and had such a peaceful vibe. The entire staff was friendly and made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful experience, Brittnie!

I almost didn’t write a review because I don’t want yall taking up all the availability, lol - but, my experience was too good not to take a moment and recognize this salon. First, I want to say that I was not asked to write a review. That alone speaks for itself. I booked a consultation about a week ago because I was starting to give myself jump scares with the condition my hair was in. My consultation was with Terrell. Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted by Mama 😊 (who I just love!) and she welcomed me, offered me water, coffee, and even hot chocolate. So kind! I went into my consultation expecting to hear that I needed to have 5-6 inches cut off my hair. To my surprise, Terrell told me that my hair was not as bad of a condition as I think. He emphasized that their salon is not scissor happy and their primary focus is healthy hair. And guess what… he was right! What I loved most was Terrell also introduced me to his sister, Theresa and they assured me that anyone in Kontur can do my hair and will provide the exact same exact. That’s truly working together as one team! 🙌🏽 Today, I went for my appointment and had the most amazing experience I’ve ever had in a salon! Terrell’s knowledge and experience earned my full trust and not only does he know his stuff, but he delivered! There was maybe an inch of my hair cut and my hair feels healthy and strong. I’m super happy with my results and will be going back monthly. There’s so much more I could say about this salon, but this review is getting kind of long, lol. Just try them out! Absolutely love this place and the whole experience I got while I was there. Terrel was quite well-informed and diligent in asking questions to better understand what he could do to enhance my hair. He ensured to encompass my hair goals as he provided his professional opinion. The atmosphere in the hair salon was fantastic and everyone did their best to ensure you were there to relax and be well- taken care of. I left feeling great and my hair looks amazing. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Other points - Clean environment - Great music - Prompt and fast service. - Professional and experienced with great hairstyles. - Family oriented owners who’ve got love for everyone around them. ❤️

This salon is absolutely fabulous! It’s really nice inside, everyone is so kind and welcoming and professional! It is always a great experience. Brittnie is our person and she is an amazing artist! She always makes my son look so handsome and his braids/style always last a long time! She is really good with the littles, which is important to me, as my son is 3. Brittnie is so sweet, professional, always communicates well and like I said, she is a true artist! My boyfriend gets his hair braided here. It's off of classen. You wouldn't even know a skin is there because it sits in the back. But the inside is really nice, they greet you once you walk thru the door, your offered juice, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. They also just got a popcorn machine in there also. They do good work, very professional and nice and I enjoy going there. Forever customer.

Now EDITED: It was my first time there and I was excited to finally find a black-owned and operated salon. I did a silk press with my natural short hair which was booked at $85. At check out I was charged $125. I asked the lady at the check-out why?(who happened to be one of the mothers of the stylist), she said that it was for hair treatment. I asked what hair treatment? She couldn't really tell me and ended up saying that it's because it's my first time and next time it won't be that expensive. All the while, looking down and couldn't look me in the eye to justify why I was billed $40 more. To my memory, there was no hair treatment. No permission was sought from me if I wanted any specific treatment at an extra charge only be to upcharged by 50% at check out. My stylist was even complaining that my hair was dry and I should work on moisturizing it. I wasn't happy about that and I still tipped because I didn't want to be seen as a jerk. But, afterwards, the more I ruminated about my experience as a first time customer, I can't help but feel cheated and robbed. Most services give their first timers discount or something, they upcharged me by 50%. The appointment was booked at 3.5 hours long, and it was finished in a little over 2 hours. Did I mention that my hair was short? I was told that the style would last a week or 2. It lasted 2 days. So please what unsolicited treatment and unapproved treatment was used on my hair for an extra $40 that showed no benefit. The stylist never mentioned to me that she was adding any treatment to my hair nor asked for my permission to do so. Imagine going to do a service and at check out, you are billed 50% more without being told what they did. I was so tired that day from dealing with a sick family for weeks and came to do my hair as a way of self-care that I didn't have energy to demand clarity but since then, I feel resentment about that experience. I want my $40 back. The hair itself was okay because I was more surprised at my own hair itself but I don't think it was worth $125 especially when I can't make anything of it after 2 days. I want my $40 back and due to lack of integrity in this area, it makes me lose respect for the entire salon establishment and will not recommend it to anyone for that reason. My stylist was professional and did a good job. I have no problem with her. The main issue is lack of integrity and transparency the business showed me as a first time customer. EDIT/NEW UPDATE: The owner of the salon reached out to me within hours of my initial review apologizing for the miscommunication in their system and refunding my $40( which I see is pending), asking for an opportunity to work it out. This led me to update my review from 1 point to 3 points. Rarely do I find an owner of a business reach out to me and accept responsibility. The Salon is cool and I like that it's Black owned and operated. It's neat inside and has a cool vibe. Maybe I might return, we'll see. The most important thing to me here is integrity and I am thankful that this is being rectified. Thank you Mr. Terrell for reaching out and amending these communication issues.

Congrats on the recent reopening after the devastating water damage that put you guys out of comission since late December of 2022. I have had wonderful memories of meeting and knowing Terrell, Teresa, Mrs Jackson and Jasmine over the last two years. Terrell has worked on trimming and conditioning my long hair, while giving much insights to how I should care for it. The same level of care and attention can be seen in the rest of his team as they as serve many long-time customers. The energy at the salon is always high and positive, making the experience in their chair one that goes beyond quality hair care. Looking forward to coming to back to your new revamped "konturing" experience!

I just love everyone who works here. They are all very knowledgeable about my hair and I have gotten so many compliments since I have been going there. This is the place for me.
