HABA Salon

The staff at HABA Salon were very welcoming and friendly, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, my hair did not turn out how I wanted it. I tried to explain what I was going for, which were lighter brown highlights throughout all my hair, but the end result was far from what I expected. When I asked if it could be fixed, I was told I’d have to pay extra, which was really disappointing, especially since I was already unhappy with the outcome. I wish there had been more understanding or a willingness to make it right without an additional charge. I now have to find a different salon and pay another couple hundred dollars to fix what has been done and get what I wanted in the first place.

I’ve been seeing Gary since I moved to Iowa City, about two years. That makes me one of his shortest client relationships. Why? Because once you get your hair done by Gary, you will never want to go to anyone else. He is an absolutely incredible stylist. He listens, and he does an impeccable job every single time. I am always happy when I leave. Best haircuts I have ever and will ever get.

Usually, I love coming here, but I will never ever book with Anne again. I have booked with several hair cutters in the past, and they were amazing. Anne, however, said that she specialized in curly hair and then proceeded to cut my hair way shorter than I wanted and gave me "Utah curls" instead of a blowout. She did not listen to me when I said that I didn't want my hair curled.

Such a good experience at Haba Salon! Lauren took the time to figure out what I wanted and had no problems making small adjustments until I loved it. Also, planning to stop back in to see what products she used because my hair has NEVER felt so soft and clean than after I left that appointment. Will be back for sure.

Hands down THE BEST salon in the state of Iowa! I've gone to Leah for years and her passion for hair is as strong as ever. So many talented stylists here.

Gary was lovely and I really love my haircut! I haven’t had a professional cut done in over 5 years and Gary really was the cherry on top of the whole experience. I went in pretty enthusiastic and excited for this change and he did an amazing job!

I had a cool but a little unkempt mullet that she helped to reshape and make both alot lighter and alot more textured. Anne is amazingly talented, if you’re lucky enough to get in for a haircut enjoy every second! I walked out feeling like a million bucks and booked my return appointment before I left!

Tammi was super friendly and very informative. I was made aware of every single step she was doing. She was a master of her craft. I loved my experience overall and I was very satisfied with the results. Will definitely go back to have my hair done.

Every time I've gone into haba salon it has been a wonderful experience. It's a wonderful safe space in a women owned business to get your beauty care taken care of. I see Lauren and she has given me fabulous haircuts and great conversation every visit. Check out this great local business!

Gary is an artist!!! I love everything about this salon!!! Soon as you walk in you feel special. The staff are all incredible!!! This is my spot. I'll never go anywhere else.
