I have been seeing Dee for my hair for nearly 3 years now. I have a bad history with hairstylists butchering my hair, but Dee has restored my faith in the hair industry! Not only did she help me achieve my hair goals in under 2 years for my wedding, but she also made me feel absolutely amazing on the day itself! In addition, after my wedding, I wanted to make a big jump back into "fun hair!". After a thorough consultation, she helped me pick out the perfect style for my personality. She absolutely killed it at bringing out my inner rockstar by cutting me the perfect shag-mullet. I had such an amazing experience at shag salon ! I came in about a month ago and the stylist Dee did such an incredible job, I went from having red/orange hair from me trying to bleach our home and she completely fixed-it and gave me a beautiful brown with lowlights! I felt very welcomed and my stylist was so kind and very open to what I wanted! I Definitely will be coming back and recommending to all!

Dee is an absolute artist! I didn’t have any inspo pics but knew I wanted some color blocking and to get rid of what was lingering from my split dye and just that we keep the integrity of my hair. (I was doing my split dye myself and knowingly fried it just to achieve the lightness that I wanted quickly, don’t ever do that lol) I gave her the freedom on the placement as I trust her judgement! She texted me a couple days before my appointment that she knew what she wanted to do and how excited she was! I knew Dee was going to kill it but she absolutely blew it out of the water! It is sooo much prettier than I ever could have dreamed of and I’ve received the most compliments on my hair than I ever have before! I can’t wait for my next appointment with her and will continue coming back! She’s worth every single penny and more!

Gina is an absolute artist! She gave me the most amazing blowout and styled my hair beautifully—smooth, bouncy, and full of life. My makeup was phenomenal too—natural, fresh, and perfectly youthful. I felt confident and radiant all day. I highly recommend Gina for anyone looking for exceptional hair and makeup services!

Editing to add that this service was performed by Dee Dredge who is currently employed by Shag Salon Scottsdale. I’m sharing my experience as a warning to others. I had an appointment with Dee. Let’s call this day 1. At the time of my appointment, my hair was a level 5, and I hoped to reach a warm level 7-8 with some level 9 highlights. During the consultation, I showed these two photos of my previous hair (from 2021) as inspiration, and she assured me this was doable in one visit. I have texts from our prior conversations confirming that she recognized my hair to be a level 8-9 in the photos. I am a licensed cosmetologist and understand the jargon, so I knew to request bleach washing, as I have a sensitive scalp and fine hair and I know this method to be gentler, even if it takes longer. Again, she agreed. When she mixed the lightener, I noticed the shampoo was absent from the formula and when I mentioned it, she said “it’s fine!” She slapped the bleach on my hair from scalp to ends & then it processed for about an hour, during which time my scalp grew increasingly irritated. After washing out the bleach, my hair was left a light, bright orange, which I could tell right away hadn’t been lifted light enough to achieve the desired outcome. Dee toned my hair, which only made it a darker orange, before adding foils to lowlight with a level 5, which came out looking closer to black. She advised she “needed time to herself” and sent me home to return the following day (day 2) for some highlights. On day 2, she rescheduled me to day 3, citing a higher priority commitment. On the afternoon of day 3, I received a text saying she was overwhelmed and couldn’t fix my hair. She has since ghosted me. I was left with tiger striped hair, a section of breakage two inches long at my crown, sores on my scalp & neck, and no recourse - and no offer of a refund. I had to find another salon and spend several hundred dollars for a color correction that took 7 hours. Because my hair had been bleached so severely and breakage was visible, the stylist didn’t feel it would be responsible to add in highlights during my appointment. I have supporting photos and am willing to share them.

I was considering coming into Shag for a fresh, new look, but the salon’s unprofessional response to a negative review tells me everything I need to know about the business they run and the people that they choose to employ. I think it’s also important to note that after a negative review was left, a barrage of positive reviews for Dee came flooding in days after someone shared their negative experience with Dee. This tells me that Dee is 1) unprofessional and either gossips to her clients, or 2) that Dee enlisted the help of friends to bury someone’s lived experience that Dee didn’t even try to make right…so are those positive reviews even true or accurate? Therefore, seeing Dee for anything having to do with my hair is not a risk that I would be willing to take.

This was my first appointment with Macy F and she did a great job with my highlight and cut! Will return!
