Last weekend my mom booked appointments for us to have our hair styled for her wedding. I showed a photo of the updo I wanted and the hair stylist, Simin, told me she would try to do it. The style included a front braid with curled bangs and a tight low bun at the base of the neck. After about 25 minutes of her struggling to do a braid and attempt to pin it, she went to the back to get a different type of pin. It looked so sloppy and you couldn't even tell it was a braid, so when she returned I told her let's just forget the updo and curl it. Simple enough, right? No. First of all, she admitted to me she didn't know how to use a curling iron, so she used a flat iron at the hottest temperature and didn't spray my hair with any type of heat protectant, so my hair was FRIED and smelled horrible for two days, even after I washed it twice. Second, it took over an hour for her to "curl" my hair and the whole time she was pulling my hair out since the flat iron was clamping my hair so hard. Everyone in my party was done with their hair at least 30 minutes before me and I was the second one to go back. Several times I saw other stylists walk by with concerned looks on their faces. One even asked "Simin, you don't want to use your curling iron to curl her hair?" To which she replied "Oh I don't know how to use it". I was SO frustrated and I think others could tell since everyone who walked by had a look of concern. I was almost to tears and at one point was about to just walk out, but she had my hair in such a rat's nest, I was afraid it would be unsalvageable for my mom's wedding if I tried to fix it at home. I didn't want to write this review, Simin was a very nice lady and I felt bad for her because she was obviously put in a position to fail since it was VERY apparent that her employers have not given her proper training and support. Simin needs to take a step back and should not be styling ANYONE's hair until she gets the training and support she DESPERATELY needs. I felt so horrible that my mom paid for this service because I did not feel pretty at all when I left and the whole reason I wanted an updo was because her wedding was outdoors and I wanted my hair off of my neck. My hair was a mess and had completely fallen flat by the end of the day, which is what I was afraid of and another reason I wanted an updo. I wish I had asked for a different stylist but I am a people-pleaser and had faith she could do SOMEthing, but unfortunately I was wrong. PLEASE train your stylists and DO BETTER. Simin told me she has been with JcPenney for 20+ years (10 of those years in the salon) and I know she loves her job, but she definitely needs further training before she is allowed back on the floor. You should not even offer hair styling if your staff doesn't even know how to use a curling iron. I have never left a salon in tears and feeling so unattractive.
Jessie was our stylist and she was amazing! I've been struggling to find someone to cut my daughter's super long hair and I have found our spot! She was knowledgable and took her time as well as made sure that my shy daughter felt comfortable with the process. I will definitely come back and will even be doing my own hair with her in the future. So impressed!
I got my haircut here two days ago by a woman, and it was hands down the worst cut I’ve ever had. It cost $50, which is insane for the quality I received—completely unacceptable. I genuinely can’t believe this is something you can charge for. If you’re a guy, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I feel completely ripped off. Terrible experience.
CERO stars ,they do not respect the clearance price . I got a tenis shoes from the clearance section with the price in it and she took it off saying is a regular price never go back there again I will cancel my credit card asap.
I scheduled an appt with a stylist and she called out sick so they reached out to reschedule. I proceeded to schedule another appt with the same stylist the following day. The stylists was in and my appt was at 5pm. They called me at 3pm asking if I could change to another stylist because they wouldn’t be able to see me because she got backed up. I expressed my concerns and they reassured me they would accommodate me and get me a comparable stylist and they assigned me to a new stylist. I arrive at 5pm and the stylist they rebooked me with wasn’t ready. They then proceeded to tell me they won’t be able to see me today because there is not enough time even tho I already showed up. They said they wouldn’t be able to blow dry my hair and I never wanted a blow dry just a cut but they still refused to see me even tho I had an appointment, worst customer service ever. They completely wastes my time with all the time I invested in commute and in waiting for the stylist only to be told they wouldn’t see me. The original stylist I booked was Jessica Yanez and the second one they switched me to was Cassandra. Don’t make appt booking times the stylists won’t be able to meet especially when you rebook someone because of time constraints. If your stylists can’t be available at those times don’t set aside those times and waste paying customers times.
Why is it OK. for women to walk into the mens change rooms to watch husbands trying on pants when/if a man step into the womens, there would be offended women/wives/ and screams, and/or calls for security or management? Please explain this. I always challenge women in here. 'This is THE MENS ROOM'. A double standard here. Robert at 70.
I been there 2 times and then I have Alexandra take care of me , She is awesome and understand what I want and she made me look great after I get my hair done by her Love it .. I'll keep make appointment with her if I need to get my hair done ... my highlight is look sooooo dang goooooood, try her !
I had a wonderful experience here. I'm a woman in my late twenties and my appointment was with Barb. Barb was so thoughtful of my hair texture and pattern and face shape and I feel my cut is so flattering. I'm growing my hair out from a pixie and she dis a great job finding a style that suited me and helped me through this grow out stage. She was kind and warm. None of the conversations felt forced and I didn't feel judged at all for some of more questionable past hair choices I was there to fix. She walked me through hair care and styling. I will be going back to her for as long as she's there!
Thank you Kaitlyn for my new color and cut as you made me feel so comfortable and I left a new women. Great job♡
I made an appointment online & got Kathy Nguyen for a single process hair color and my hair is shoulder length. She colored my hair (brown) took 35 minutes to process. I noticed she didn''t really shampoo my hair like they usually do when you can feel it in your scalp but thought nothing of it. She asked me if I wanted to trim my hair to take off split ends. I said Yes and she "trimmed" my hair (that's it) she said she wanted to blow dry it so she could cut it more. She dried my hair, no style and I put it in a ponytail. I get to the register and the bill is $185! Now, I did ask for Olaplex which was an additional $30. So, she charged me $100 for the single color and $55 to trim my hair. I left a $10 tip because I was in a huge hurry. I came home and my husband said "Did they wash your hair?" I said "Yes." I look in the mirror with my glasses on and my scalp still had the Clairol root color all along the part because she didn't really shampoo my hair like everyone else. Not ONLY that I have been there twice before to have highlights down (blond) with Lisa and the process took like 2 hours and the work was much more tedious and it wasn't has much as this haircut and I had the Olaplex added when I paid for those services - Lisa was great. I called and asked for the manager because I feel they should refund me for the haircut - $55 for a trim is ridiculous! I won't be going back there ever again. ********************UPDATE*********************************** 7.15.24 - I spoke with the manager and everything was made right. I felt valued and respected and I will make sure I stick with the same stylist in the future and will be returning to the salon.
