Professional Bio
I’ve been doing hair over half my life (30 years) and I still enjoy it greatly! I strive to take into account each individual’s personality, public image, and specific needs to achieve the style, cut, or color that best suits them.
Ongoing education is important to me. I’ve had the great fortune to have studied with some of the greatest hair professionals in the industry such as: Sam Villa at The New York REDKEN Exchange, and Trevor Sorbie of Sorbie Intl from London. I’ve also attended the Vidal Sassoon Academy in L.A. as well as numerous coloring and cutting workshops and conventions around the U.S.
I believe that haircutting is not only a technical skill, but it is a form of a stylist’s individual artistry. I may approach an individual’s hair type with a combination of cutting techniques. For instance, cutting the hair wet for a classic precision style, dry cutting for shaping curly hair, or razor cutting for more texture, and clipper cutting for a modern-looking men’s haircut. The hair type is as individual as the person, so that is how I like to approach haircutting.
I am a Board Certified Hair Colorist through the American Board of Certified Hair Colorists.
All the current hair color products I use are Ammonia-free, such as the Organics Colour Systems UK, Redken Chromatics, and Redken Shades EQ.
